All (Good) Things wine brand ‘exceeds all expectations’

Benchmark Drinks MD Paul Schaafsma says his new wine brand All (Good) Things has had Tesco’s most successful branded launch from the March-April range review, ranking first, third, and fifth among 62 new products, with close to 30,000 cases sold in its first 10 weeks.

The range, comprising a Western Australian Sauvignon Blanc and Shiraz plus a Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, sits in the £7.50–£9.50 bracket, which Schaafsma calls “a sweet spot” for UK wine sales. The Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is made by winemaker Matt Thompson, with fruit sourced from Dillons Point, the same coastal sub-region used by Greywacke and Cloudy Bay.

Tesco Group holds a six-month exclusivity on the range. In June, Booker will roll the Western Australian Sauvignon Blanc out to 4,000 convenience stores including Londis, Budgens, and Premier, a move Schaafsma believes is unprecedented for a new brand in the group.

Further expressions in development include a Frankland River Pinot Noir and a Margaret River Chardonnay.
